1. What this policy covers

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Cairn Learning (“Cairn”, “we”, “us”) uses on cairnlearning.com, why we use them, and how you can control them. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device. “Similar technologies” includes things like local storage that work in much the same way. We use the word “cookies” below to cover all of them.

2. The categories we use

Strictly necessary. These make the site work. Without them, the service cannot function, so they do not require your consent. Our main one is the session identifier that keeps your place while you build a plan.

Analytics. [FILL: keep this section only if true.] These help us understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so we can improve it. They are optional, and we set them only if you allow it. [FILL: name the analytics tool, e.g. Vercel Analytics, or remove this category entirely if you do not use analytics.]

We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. Cairn does not run ads and does not let third parties track you across other sites through our service.

3. The specific cookies we set

[FILL: complete this table from the actual cookies and storage keys your app sets. List every one. If the only entries are strictly necessary, say so plainly.]

4. Third-party cookies

Some of the providers who help us run Cairn may set their own cookies, for example our hosting provider. We list our service providers in our Privacy Policy. When you follow a link from a recommendation to a learning provider's own site, that provider sets its own cookies under its own policy, which we do not control.

5. How to control cookies

[FILL: if you set non-essential cookies, describe your consent banner here, e.g. “When you first visit, we ask which optional cookies you allow. You can change your choice at any time from the link in our footer.”]

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, including blocking or deleting them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the service from working.

6. Do Not Track

Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for how sites should respond, so we [FILL: state how you treat the signal, e.g. “do not set optional cookies regardless, so the signal does not change our behavior”].

7. Cookies and children

Cairn is used by parents on behalf of children. Some identifiers, such as a session identifier, can count as personal information about a child under children's privacy laws. We keep non-essential identifiers off by default and limit what we collect, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our use of cookies changes, and we will update the version and date above.
