Refund Policy.
This Refund Policy explains how refunds and cancellations work for paid subscriptions to Cairn Learning (“Cairn”, “we”, “us”). It forms part of, and should be read alongside, our Terms of Service. By purchasing a paid subscription you agree to the terms set out below.
1. What this policy covers
This policy applies only to fees you pay directly to Cairn for access to our service, including any paid subscription tier. It does not cover payments you make to the third-party learning providers we recommend. Those providers are independent businesses with their own pricing and refund terms, and any purchase you make with them is governed solely by their policies. We are not able to issue refunds on their behalf.
2. Subscriptions and billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis according to the plan you select at checkout (monthly or annual). Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless you cancel before the renewal date. We will charge the payment method on file using the rate disclosed at the time of purchase or renewal.
3. Cancelling your subscription
You can cancel at any time from your account settings or by contacting us at legal@cairnplan.com. When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until that date. We do not charge you again after cancellation. Cancelling stops future renewals. On its own it does not trigger a refund of fees already paid for the current period, except where this policy or applicable law provides otherwise.
4. Refund eligibility
We offer a 14-day refund window to first-time subscribers. If you are dissatisfied with a paid subscription, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase, and we will refund the amount paid for that billing period. This applies once per customer and to first-time purchases only.
Outside this window, payments are generally non-refundable, including for partial billing periods, periods of non-use, and renewals. We may still issue a refund at our discretion, for example where a technical fault on our side prevented you from using the service.
5. Your statutory rights
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the consumer protection laws that apply to you. If you are a consumer in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with a statutory cooling-off period, you may have the right to withdraw from your purchase within a set period after buying. Because Cairn is digital content supplied online, this right may end once you start using the paid service, where you have asked us to begin immediately and acknowledged that you lose the right of withdrawal by doing so. Where a mandatory statutory right applies, it takes precedence over the standard terms above.
6. Free trials
If we offer a free trial, you will not be charged during the trial period. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, your subscription will begin automatically and your payment method will be charged at the rate disclosed when you signed up. Charges that occur after a trial converts to a paid subscription are subject to the refund terms in Section 4.
7. How payments are processed
Payments are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Refunds are returned to the original payment method used at purchase. We do not store full card details.
8. How to request a refund
To request a refund, contact us at legal@cairnplan.com from the email address associated with your account, and include the date of purchase and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
9. Refund processing time
Approved refunds are issued to your original payment method. Once processed, it can take up to 10 business days for the funds to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase. We will post the current version on this page with an updated date.
